Abigail began her career in government relations and public policy at the Massachusetts State House, honing a detail-oriented, collaborative, and thorough approach that she now brings to Oak & Argyle. Abby served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Massachusetts State Auditor’s Office under Suzanne M. Bump. In this role, she managed the Auditor’s legislative and budgetary agenda by liaising with the Legislature and Governor’s Office, orchestrating stakeholder coalitions, and devising strategic plans to enhance understanding of the office's work.
Abby coordinated an internal working group of division heads to draft first-of-its-kind legislation aimed at modernizing the agency’s enabling statute, boosting government efficiency and effectiveness. She also managed projects to develop legislative solutions to policy issues identified in audit or policy reports.
In collaboration with state and local partners, Abby championed various policy enhancements. She played a key role in increasing funding and accountability for in-service police training, and amplifying funding for early voting and vote-by-mail initiatives. Abby spearheaded an electronic backpack program for students in foster care and advocated for a state-funded building authority to support municipal and public safety facilities. Additionally, she worked diligently to increase funding for student transportation, including regional and McKinney-Vento homeless student transportation.
Prior to her role in the Auditor’s Office, Abby was a Policy Analyst in the House Minority Leader’s Office, deepening her understanding of the legislative process and state budgetary workings. This journey equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and an ability to effect impactful change.
Abby, with her extensive background in government relations and public policy, now applies her collaborative and strategic skills to manage the day-to-day operations at Oak & Argyle. Her previous roles in legislative affairs and policy analysis have prepared her ability to navigate complex public policy environments, forge partnerships, and drive impactful change.
At Oak & Argyle, Abby's leadership is instrumental in aligning organizational goals with community engagement and public policy strategies, ensuring the firm's projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
